GTA VI Leak Allegedly Originated From Rockstar India, With A Playable Build Sold For $50 Million

The recent GTA VI leak originated from Rockstar Games India, with a playable build sold for around 50 million US Dollars, according to a new leak.

According to a new rumor, the recent GTA VI leak began when a Rockstar Games India employee was hacked, with the game’s development build possibly being stolen from them. It is claimed that Russian hackers were behind the attack and that someone in India later sold the build to CYBERLEEK for around 50 million US Dollar, which appears to be how the hacker group known as CYBERLEEK has extensive access to the upcoming open-world action-adventure title.

In order to prove that they have access to a playable build of GTA VI, CYBERLEEK shared video footage of Jason Duval, one of the game’s two protagonists, shooting into a wall to have the bullet holes spell out the word “CYBERLEEK.” There’s also gameplay showing the player flying a plane across the Leonida world map.

It’s likely that the version of GTA VI in possession of the hacker group is a PC development build, as Rockstar Games isn’t releasing the console versions on physical media, making it extremely difficult for anyone to obtain and run a console build early. Dev kits and online connectivity are generally required to run development versions of console games.

The development build of GTA VI could contain unfinished gameplay systems, internal assets, debugging tools, and other material that Rockstar Games has not publicly revealed. Access to such a build could also potentially allow individuals to compile and distribute a version of the game for PC.

As always, we urge our readers to take all rumors with a grain of salt until there is confirmation via official channels.

GTA VI is set for release on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. A new Extended Look will premiere later this month on Netflix on Thursday, August 27 at 3 p.m. ET, giving fans a in-depth look at the highly anticipated open-world game ahead of its release.
