The aforementioned trailer release date announcement tweet for GTA VI on Rockstar Games official Twitter/X account has amassed over 143 million views and over 1.8 million likes in less than 48 hours, breaking all gaming related user engagement records on the social media platform. It’s a strong indicator of the enormous hype and excitement for the latest entry in the long running Grand Theft Auto series among the gaming community.
The trailer is set to be unveiled over social media on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at 9 AM Eastern Time. Given the kind of user engagement that the trailer release date announcement has had over social media, engagement for the trailer itself is expected to be even greater. The reveal of a brand new GTA title has proven to be the equivalent of a cultural event in the entertainment industry. Of course, this may just be a coincidence, and the design of the clothing patch may simply be misleading. Either way, it’s hard to tell at this point, but fans won’t have to wait long to find out.
