The pre-load for Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is expected to go live on PlayStation Network on December 5, 2023, two days prior to the game’s launch. It will come with the latest update pre-installed for those who pre-ordered a digital copy of the game, though a day one update may be rolled out closer to launch on December 7, 2023. Meanwhile, those who purchased the game on disc will need to download the day one update.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is set to be released for PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S. It is played from the first-person perspective. Players assume control of a Na’vi orphan who has been abducted by the the RDA and has been trained and molded to serve their purpose. They must reconnect with their ancient heritage and join the other clans to protect. Players will harness the Na’vi child’s strength and agility while customizing their character; crafting new gear, and upgrading skills and weapons to fit their playstyle.

In order to fight off the dangers of Pandora, players will have traditional Na’vi weapons at their disposal, including a bow and a spear-thrower. In addition, they will also be able to use more destructive human weapons, such as an assault rifle and a shotgun. The young Na’vi will also be able to capture and bond with their personal banshee – a large, dragon-like winged predator that will give them an edge in aerial combat and can be used for traveling long distances.
