Halo Studios Shares Final Zeta Halo Lore Dump With Endless

by Ali Haider

Halo Studios has shared what appears to be one final lore update for Halo Infinite, offering new details about Zeta Halo and the mysterious Endless while potentially providing a glimpse at ideas that could have been used for a future Halo game.

The new material describes the battle across Zeta Halo, with conflicts taking place across snowy fields, jungles filled with Banished machinery and the sand-blasted ruins of the Tudejsa.

The update also explains what happened to the UNSC Infinity after it crashed onto the ring. According to Halo Studios, the ship was concealed by advanced Forerunner baffler systems and has spent six months gradually becoming part of Zeta Halo itself.

“After crashing on the ring’s surface, the UNSC Infinity was shrouded by advanced Forerunner baffler systems. Over the course of six months, it appears to be becoming part of the ring itself,” the studio wrote.

The fate of the Infinity remains unclear. Its damaged hull has become a shelter for surviving UNSC personnel, while the threat of overloading its engines could potentially destroy what the Banished are attempting to claim.

Halo Studios then turned its attention to the Endless, sharing what it described as something intended to spark questions about the franchise’s future.

“And finally, as is tradition, we’ll leave you with something that hopefully sparks your imagination and lets your canon curiosities run wild with endless questions. Behold the Xalanyn, children of Abaddon.”

The Xalanyn are connected to the Endless introduced in Halo Infinite. The campaign established that the species survived the firing of the Halo array and was imprisoned because of the threat it posed.

The material could be particularly interesting in light of Microsoft’s previous trademark for Halo: The Endless. The project was never released, leaving open the possibility that the newly shared material could offer a glimpse at concepts that were being considered for a future Halo project.
