Hitman Classic Trilogy Remastered Announced for 2027

by Greg Martin

Saber Interactive and IO Interactive have announced Hitman Classic Trilogy Remastered, a new collection that brings Agent 47’s earliest missions to modern platforms. The remastered package is scheduled to launch in 2027 for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

The collection includes remastered versions of the first three entries in the iconic stealth series: Hitman: Codename 47, Hitman 2: Silent Assassin, and Hitman: Contracts. Originally developed by IO Interactive, the trilogy helped establish the foundation of the franchise and introduced players to the world’s most notorious contract killer.

According to the announcement, the remasters are designed to preserve the gameplay systems, atmosphere, and open-ended mission structure that defined the original releases while updating them for contemporary hardware. Players will once again step into the role of Agent 47 and tackle missions that emphasize stealth, planning, and player choice.

Among the most notable additions is an instant graphics toggle, allowing players to switch between the original visuals and the enhanced remastered presentation at any time. The collection will also feature upgraded character models, improved environments, and high-resolution textures intended to modernize the games while maintaining their original identity.

A dedicated Photo Mode is also being added, giving players the ability to capture moments from their missions and explore environments from new perspectives.

As with the original games, missions are built around player freedom. Each contract offers multiple ways to reach objectives, encouraging the use of disguises, environmental interactions, stealth tactics, and creative problem-solving. Success depends on careful observation, timing, and adaptability, with players free to improvise when plans go wrong.

The collection also offers a chance to revisit the evolution of the Hitman formula across its earliest entries. From the experimental design of Codename 47 to the refined stealth mechanics of Silent Assassin and the darker tone of Contracts, the trilogy showcases the progression of the series before it grew into one of gaming’s most recognizable stealth franchises.

Saber Interactive is no stranger to remastering classic games. The studio has previously worked on projects including Tomb Raider I-III Remastered, Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered, Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver 1 & 2 Remastered, Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo: The Master Chief Collection, and the Nintendo Switch version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

Hitman Classic Trilogy Remastered is currently available to wishlist and is set to launch in 2027 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, giving both longtime fans and newcomers an opportunity to experience the origins of Agent 47 with modern enhancements.
