Hogwarts Legacy Pre-Load Is Live, Download Size Revealed

The pre-load for Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment and Avalanche Software’s Hogwarts Legacy is now live, and the download size has been revealed.

Those who pre-ordered a digital copy of Hogwarts Legacy on Xbox platforms should now notice that the game’s pre-load has begun on their console, with a total download size of 76.67GB.

The download size of 76.67GB is for the Xbox Series X|S versions of the game, and the Xbox One version may have a different file size. The pre-load is available a little over two weeks ahead of the game’s release on February 10, 2023, and, therefore, there should be plenty of time to download the game for those with slower internet speeds.

Previously, the ray tracing options for Hogwarts Legacy were detailed by the game’s developer. Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment had confirmed that Hogwarts Legacy would support ray tracing, but it hadn’t delved into detail regarding the specifics regarding the feature up until recently.

According to WB Games, Hogwarts Legacy will include ray tracing options for shadows, reflections, and ambient occlusion. The game will also feature multiple Quality presets, therefore some or all of the aforementioned ray traced graphical features may not be available in the Performance mode, which targets a frame rate of 60fps.

The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S console versions of Hogwarts Legacy support two graphics modes for players to choose from, including a Fidelity mode, which targets a frame rate of 30 fps, and a Performance mode, which targets a frame rate of 60 fps. Meanwhile, those who will play the console version on a VRR supported television will be able to benefit from VRR support in Hogwarts Legacy. Any judder resulting from minor dips in frame rate will be smoothed out with this setting enabled.
