Insomniac May Have Canceled A Ratchet & Clank Game That Was Leaked In Recent Data Breach

Twitch streamer Xem82 shared that he recently spoke to an individual who is apparently a game developer. He told the streamer that he had talked to a few of his friends who work at Insomniac Games about his streams. The alleged developer talked about a Ratchet & Clank game that was leaked as part of the studio’s recent data breach.
According to the alleged developer, the unannounced Ratchet & Clank game was originally planned, but Insomniac Games canceled it. The studio’s leaked data included mention of a new entry in the Ratchet & Clank series that was set for release sometime in 2029. Apparently, while the game has been canned for now, there’s a chance the project may be brought back to life. The streamer believes that the decision was made so that Insomniac Games could continue to pursue more lucrative ventures with Marvel.
For the uninitiated, Insomniac Games’ was hit by a ransomware attack that had given hackers access to all of its data. That data was subsequently leaked, and it included details regarding the studio’s upcoming titles, future roadmap, test footage, concept art, as well as story and cast details for Marvel’s Wolverine. There was also some concept art for a new Ratchet title.
The roadmap for future titles from Insomniac Games included games like Marvel’s Venom in Fall 2025, Marvel’s Wolverine in Fall 2026, Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 in Fall 2028, a new Ratchet & Clank in Fall 2029, Marvel’s X-Men in Fall 2030, and a new IP in 2031/2032. The leak included concept art and internal slides for an unannounced Ratchet & Clank game. Going by the roadmap, it was scheduled for release in the year 2029. The leaked data also revealed that Insomniac Games’ next title, Marvel’s Wolverine, will be set in Alaska, Avalon, Canada, Japan, and Madripoor.
