Kojima Productions game director Hideo Kojima is potentially teasing a trailer for Death Stranding 2 at The Game Awards 2022.

Hideo Kojima took to Twitter to share a screenshot of audio equipment, presumably taken while capturing a new trailer for Death Stranding 2, which may make an appearance next month at The Game Awards 2022.

Previously, Tarasova Kateryna, who works as a producer at Kojima productions, shared a tweet in which she confirmed that Hideo Kojima’s teasers are in fact related to Death Stranding 2. The tweet was promptly deleted, giving further credibility to the accidental leak. Kojima had previously revealed that Ellie Fanning, will be playing a role in his upcoming game, which, according to Kateryna’s deleted tweet, is Death Stranding 2.

Similarly, actor Norman Reedus had also confirmed the existence of a Death Stranding sequel. Speaking during an interview, he mentioned at the time that work on the second game started recently.

“Hey, there’s a guy named Hideo Kojima, he’s going to call you, just say yes,” Guillermo Del Toro, who gave Reedus his first movie, said. “Stop being an asshole, just say yes.” Reedus was in San Diego at the time, and Kojima came with a large group of people to show him a demo of what he was working on. Reedus was utterly swept away by what Kojima showed him, and he signed up for the project. He said he was completely blow away by what he had seen.

Reedus finished all of the MoCap sessions in around two or three years. It took a significant amount of effort on his part. He acknowledged that the game was well-received, winning lots of accolades. He said it was a tremendous deal, and as a result, work on Death Stranding 2 has now begun. Reedus is expected to reprise his role as Freelance courier Sam Porter Bridges.
