Marvel Tokon PS5 Launch Version Reportedly Improves Input Lag By 10ms From Open Beta, Still Lags Behind PC By 1 To 2 Frames

by Muhammad Ali Bari

The PS5 input lag in the launch version of Sony Interactive Entertainment and Arc System Works’ new fighting game, Marvel Tokon, has improved by 10ms from the Open Beta.

Input lag test specialists noodalls and fubarduck have shared their findings from the launch version of Marvel Tokon for PS5, and the results show it runs around 10ms faster than the Open Beta. Both individuals conducted their tests on a Sony INZONE M3 display, though their readings differ by less than 2ms, which is roughly within the margin of error.

Marvel Tokon PS5 Open Beta vs Launch Version Input Lag Comparison

A comparison between input latency readings from the PS5 Open Beta and launch version of Marvel Tokon from both Nigel Woodall and Ryan Harvey can be seen in the table below.

Version Nigel Woodall Ryan Harvey
PS5 Open Beta 59.76ms 63.3ms
PS5 Launch 51.17ms 53ms

An improvement in input lag is welcome, regardless of how minor it may seem. That said, as Harvey pointed out, the PC version of Marvel Tokon is still significantly more responsive for than the PS5 version at launch. He currently recommends playing with 1 to 2 input delay frames on the PC version in order to match the PS5 input latency to those training for competitions, which are played on PS5 consoles.

There are a few things Arc System Works can do to further improve input lag in the PS5 version of Marvel Tokon. The developer ought to follow what Capcom did with Street Fighter 6, and offer the option to disable V-Sync and output the game in 120Hz mode on the console. As Woodall’s tests indicate, outputting Marvel Tokon at 120Hz on a display that supports 120Hz or higher should reduce the input latency to 44ms on PS5. Adding a V-Sync toggle alongside VRR support should further improve things.

Marvel Tokon was released on August 6, 2026, for PlayStation 6 and Windows PC.
