Marvel Tōkon PS5 Outperforms PC at Launch

by Salal Awan

Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls has launched on PS5 and PC, with early performance testing showing Sony’s console versions delivering the smoother overall experience.

The fighting game runs at a locked 60 FPS on both the standard PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro. According to the analysis, the primary difference between the two versions is image quality, with the PS5 Pro using PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) to produce a sharper presentation while maintaining the same frame rate.

The PC version is also capped at 60 FPS in both offline and online modes. However, it currently suffers from stuttering issues and broader optimisation problems that impact the overall experience.

The report also notes that the Steam release is incompatible with Steam Machine and Steam Deck due to its anti-cheat implementation, preventing the game from running on Valve’s handheld platform.

While the PlayStation 5 versions provide stable performance from launch, the current state of the PC release makes it the less recommended platform until further optimisation updates are released.

Developed by Arc System Works and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls launched on August 6, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Windows.
