Marvel’s Spider-Man Has Sold More Than 20 Million Copies Worldwide
Marvel’s Spider-Man is one of the most successful games published by Sony Interactive Entertainment this generation. It has sold more than 20 million copies.
Marvel’s Spider-Man was released exclusively for the PS4 on September 7, 2018. It set a new sales record by becoming one of the fastest-selling games for the PS4 and surpassing 3.3 million copies. Just like God of War PS4, it is now another first-party exclusive that has reached the 20 million sales figure.

The last reported number for Marvel’s Spider-Man was 13.2 million when Sony acquired Insomniac Games. Looking at the stat tracking website GamStat, we can see that the overall player count is more than 20 million, and this lines up with the latest sales figure.
This update was shared by David Bull, Global Marketing Leader at Sony on his Linkedin profile. “Broke sales records with a recognized marketing campaign for Marvel’s Spider-Man. Sold 3.3MM units sold in the first three days, and over 20 million units globally, ” reads one of the key points on David’s Linkedin as spotted by Timur222.
This is an amazing achievement especially considering the fact that the game is barely out for two years by now. It has the potential to become one of the best-selling exclusives published by Sony Interactive Entertainment especially after the Remastered version was released for the PS5.
Marvel’s Spider-Man was followed up with an expansion, Spider-Man: Miles Morales, which is out now for both PS4 and PS5. Insomniac Games has also remastered the game for PS5 with improved visuals and ray-tracing support in addition to 60 FPS.
