Selected reviewers and content creators have already started playing Marvel’s Wolverine, with the game’s review embargo set to lift on September 10 at 8 AM PT. That puts the first reviews online five days before Insomniac Games’ upcoming PlayStation 5 exclusive launches on September 15.
Content creator Destin confirmed that he is reviewing Marvel’s Wolverine after receiving a review code from PlayStation. “I am reviewing Marvel’s Wolverine. Thank you to PlayStation for providing a review code. Review embargo is Sept 10th at 8am PT Expect more then bub. Snikt!” he wrote.
Insomniac community manager James Stevenson also confirmed that reviewers have been given time to play the game ahead of the embargo. “Wanted to make sure everyone had plenty of time with the game ahead of our early September 10th review embargo!” Stevenson said.
Marvel’s Wolverine is a single-player action-adventure game developed by Insomniac Games and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. It is scheduled to launch exclusively on PlayStation 5 on September 15, 2026, and follows James “Logan” Howlett as he investigates the abduction of displaced mutants while confronting elements of his past.
The game features third-person combat built around Wolverine’s adamantium claws, enhanced senses and regenerative abilities, with the story taking players across multiple locations.
