The producer of Konami’s upcoming Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater has asked fans to be patient with regards to a release date announcement.
During Tokyo Game Show 2024 (via), Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater producer Noriaki Okamura apologized to fans regarding the lack of a release date announcement for the game. It turns out that the development team is still working hard to figure out an achievable release schedule.
According to Okamura, him and the Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater development team don’t want to make promises to fans that they can’t keep. He added that Konami is working hard to deliver the game to fans as soon as possible, and he asked them to wait a little longer for the release date announcement.
Going by the Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater producer’s statement, it seems unlikely that the remake will see the light of day in 2024. Despite being in a state where it’s playable from start to finish, the game likely requires some polish work that will push it towards and early 2025 release window.
In related news, the recent surge of gameplay footage pouring out from Tokyo Game Show 2024 has confirmed that a well-known Easter egg from the original has been carried over to Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. This is the sequence where Snake throws up if players rotate his character model in the menu screen. With everything looking far more detail in the remake compared to the original, the sequence is rather tough to swallow. Snake leaves behind a splatter of vomit on the grass. Though, it’s unclear whether the grotesque substance can be interacted with. Given the remake’s attention to detail in every other area, we wouldn’t be surprised if that is the case, meaning that we may actually get to see Snake leaving behind footprints drenched in his own vomit.
