Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater Revives Classic Easter Egg With A Fresh Twist
Konami’s upcoming remake of MGS 3, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, has revived a classic Easter egg from the original with a brand new twist.
The aforementioned Easter egg featured in the original Metal Gear Solid 3 had Snake throw up if players rotated his character model in the menu screen. With all the brand new gameplay footage pouring out from Tokyo Game Show 2024, we now have visual confirmation that the same Easter egg has been carried over to Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. However, with everything looking far more detail here than in the original, the new throw up sequence is tough to swallow. Snake leaves behind a splatter of vomit on the grass. It’s unclear whether the grotesque substance can be interacted with. Given the remake’s attention to detail in every other area, we wouldn’t be surprised if that is the case, meaning that we may actually get to see Snake leaving behind footprints drenched in his own vomit.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater vs Original Easter Egg Comparison
A visual comparison between the throw up sequence in the original and in Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater can be seen below.
Apparently, Snake can still vomit in MGS: Delta if you rotate him in the menu (also, having dirt and mud on you can help increase camouflage as well)

Fans of the original will recall that deliberately throwing up was a secret way to cure food poisoning. Given how faithful it is proving to be to the original, the same will likely be the case in the remake.
Other attention to detail that ties into gameplay is Snake getting dirt and mud on himself while traversing the jungle in prone stance. While the original MGS3 allowed the protagonist to wear a variety of outfits that had a varying degree of success with environmental camouflage, the remake adds a unique twist whereby allowing Snake to be covered with dirt and mud during gameplay can actually help increase his ability to camouflage himself.
