A datamine of the Closed Beta Test for Sega’s upcoming racing game, Crazy Taxi: World Tour, has reveled new playable characters, classic controls, and more.
Twitter/X user Star_Wyse has shared details from a datamine of the Crazy Taxi: World Tour Closed Beta Test, revealing new playable characters, a Classic control scheme, Time of Day options, menu icons for the different car customization types, and map screens.
According to the Twitter/X user, two playable characters found in the game files were not available during the Closed Beta Test: Iceman and Slash, both of whom originally appeared in Crazy Taxi 2. Their presence in the files suggests that the upcoming game may include characters in addition to those available during the beta.

The datamine also uncovered options for different Times of Day on the game’s maps, including an option that can randomly select a time. This could potentially add further variety to races and exploration. Menu icons were also found for three different types of vehicle customization, namely Body Custom, Accessories, and Decals.
The findings also include some details about the game’s Cops n Robbers mode. Based on the datamine, police vehicles can use spike traps, suggesting that the mode may feature unique tactical options.

The Twitter/X user also shared the full maps for the West Coast and Germany areas. While much of these locations had already been seen through the Pickup Race mode, the datamined maps provide a more complete look at their layouts.

The files contain a Nintendo Switch 2 icon despite the feature being skipped during the beta. There are also control graphics for the original Nintendo Switch Joy-Con controllers and Switch Pro Controller, despite the game being tested on Switch 2. The option to change the default control scheme to Classic Crazy Taxi controls also appears to be included, allowing players to manually switch between drive and reverse.

Crazy Taxi: World Tour is set for release across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and Windows PC.
