The Metaphor: ReFantazio prologue demo is now available on Nintendo Switch 2 in Japan and Australia, giving players in those regions an early chance to try Atlus’ upcoming version of the fantasy RPG.
The demo for Metaphor: ReFantazio on Switch 2 should be available in a day or two on eShop pages in other regions, as the Australian eShop typically updates before the others.
Developed by Studio Zero and published by Atlus, Metaphor: ReFantazio originally launched across PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. The game follows a protagonist caught up in a political struggle in the United Kingdom of Euchronia after the assassination of its king.
The RPG combines turn-based combat with real-time actions and time-management mechanics. Its story explores political conflict and social prejudice within a distinctive fantasy setting.
The Nintendo Switch 2 edition is scheduled to launch on November 12, 2026, at a reduced price. Sega and Atlus have also announced physical editions and a digital anniversary package featuring additional soundtracks and art collections.
