Metroid Dread Special Edition Is Being Sold For $200 After Going Out of Stock

by Salal Awan

Metroid Dread Special Edition is out of stock across major retailers which has given scalpers the chance to jack up their price and sell it for a premium.

Normally, the special edition of Metroid Dread will cost you $89.99, but this is not the case now due to the game being out of stock. We have checked major retailers like Walmart, Target, GameStop, and even Amazon, and all of these show the Special Edition is out of stock.

This has given scalpers the chance to boost their sales by selling it on eBay for a premium. You can expect to pay almost twice the price or as high as north of $200. This is based on the currently listed price for the Metroid Dread Special Edition.

The special edition of Metroid Dread comes with a bonus like the art book. Here’s the additional content that will be a part of the special edition.

  • In addition to a haunting steel game case, this edition includes the game card, 5 high-quality art cards with key art for each 2D Metroid game and a 190-page art book spanning all 5 entries in the 2D Metroid saga

Given that the art book covers the entire Metroid saga, naturally, there is a lot of interest in it and this can be seen with the Special Edition going out of stock. We have no idea when it will be back on stock but we would advise you to have patience and don’t give the scalpers a chance to sell their horrible practice.

Metroid Dread will be out on October 8, 2021, for the Nintendo Switch. This is the first mainline Metroid game since the launch of Metroid Fusion on the Nintendo Gameboy Advance almost 19 years back. It was first teased in the Metroid Prime series where the title was revealed, but the game took its time in getting into the active development stage.
