Mortal Kombat 1 Download Size & Pre-Load Date Revealed

The download size and digital pre-load date for Warner Bros Games and NetherRealm Studios’ upcoming fighting game, Mortal Kombat 1, has been revealed.

PlayStationSize on Twitter has revealed the pre-load date and download size for Mortal Kombat 1, courtesy of recent database entries made to PlayStation servers. The latest entry in the gore-filled fighting game will take up a sizeable chunk of storage space on PS5. Those with limited available space on the internal storage drive are advised to clear up some space in advance. It goes without saying that internal SSD expansion options are available for those who need them.

The pre-load date for Mortal Kombat 1 on PS5 can be seen below.

  • Standard Edition: Sep 17, Midnight UTC
  • Premium Edition: September 12, 17:00 UTC

The pre-load will come with the latest update pre-installed for those who pre-ordered a digital copy of the game, though a day one update may be rolled out closer to the official launch on September 19, 2023. Meanwhile, those who purchased the game on disc will need to download the update.

Details regarding the review embargo for Mortal Kombat 1 have not yet been revealed, though reviews are expected to drop close to launch day.

Previously, leaked trophies/achievements for Mortal Kombat 1 had revealed several brand new features. Top among the list of new features is the return of the shrine. Also making its return in the latest entry in the Mortal Kombat series are secret fights, Konsumables, and the Kombat League. Additionally, the game will feature a seasonal kurrency, daily and weekly quests, mastery system for kameos, mini-bosses and major bosses for the Invasions mode, and multiple shops.
