Motive Studio’s Iron Man Game Runs On Unreal Engine 5

EA and Motive Studio’s upcoming Iron Man game runs on Epic’s Unreal Engine 5, based on the latest information.

Based on a recent job listing, the Iron Man game in development at Motive Studio runs on Unreal Engine 5. The listing is for the position of Audio Software Developer, and it is stated that the new recruit will join the development team to work on the upcoming AAA Iron Man game developed with Unreal Engine 5.

Among the mentioned responsibilities, it is mentioned that the fresh recruit will collaborate with audio designers to integrate audio assets, implement sound effects, music, voice overs, and interactive audio elements using Unreal Engine 5.

In terms of qualification, candidates are expected to have proficiency in Unreal Engine 5’s audio system, including working with audio components, audio graphs, sound cues, and Unreal’s Blueprints visual scripting.

Previously, it was reported that the Iron Man game has been in development since at least July, 2021. According to the LinkedIn profile of senior environment artist Jimmy Ho, he has been working on the Iron Man game since July, 2021. This duration amounts to 1 year and 3 months. It’s also possible that he may have joined the project sometime after development began, but it’s hard to say for sure. Based on the information available, however, the game has been in development since July, 2021, at the very least.

Iron Man is a single-player, third-person, action-adventure game in development at Montreal-based Motive Studio. The team is being led by Olivier Proulx, who brings experience working on past Marvel titles like Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, and is joined by a dedicated team of passionate industry veterans including Ian Frazier, Maëlenn Lumineau, and JF Poirier.

The game is being developed in partnership with Marvel Games. It will feature a unique story that draws from Iron Man’s rich history while channeling Tony Stark’s complexity, charisma, and creative genius to give players a sense of what it’s like to play as Iron Man.
