Recent activity of multiple Chinese parts sellers indicates that the rumored Nintendo Switch 2 hardware revision featuring a new Sharp display has entered mass production.
According to BlueSky user ninpatentswatch, another Chinese parts reseller is now offering a Nintendo Switch 2 LCD display assembled by Sharp. The panel carries the model number LS0DAS7081, matching a panel identified in an earlier reseller listing. The increasing frequency with which these panels are appearing on Chinese parts marketplaces indicate that production has moved beyond isolated engineering samples and into a larger manufacturing run.
As previously noted by ninpatentswatch, the “LS” prefix is consistent with Sharp’s LTPS display technology, while “0DAS” is a code rarely seen in Sharp’s commercial products. This likely mean that LS0DAS7081 is an internal model number associated with an engineering sample. A previous Chinese seller had also listed what it called a “V2” Switch 2 LCD panel, although its model number differed, being LS079T1SX10P. The inconsistency leaves several possibilities open, including multiple display suppliers, engineering samples circulating through the component market, or a relatively minor hardware revision rather than a major redesign.
When compared with the LCD panel used in the launch model, which was assembled by Innolux, the new display features noticeably different exposed circuitry, connector placement, and ribbon cable layouts. Sharp had reportedly stated that its Hakusan manufacturing plant expanded sales for mobile-related applications beginning in September, 2025. According to ninpatentswatch, this is in line with information previously shared by a customs data researcher. Their prior research had shown that the launch Nintendo Switch 2 panel relied on Sharp-manufactured LTPS glass, commonly referred to as the “open cell,” while the final LCD panel was assembled by Innolux. The newly surfaced panel appears to be assembled directly by Sharp.
One major complaint with the launch Nintendo Switch 2 display is the ghosting issue that many players have observed during gameplay. Since the updated panel features a revised internal design, it’s possible that Sharp has made changes aimed at improving pixel response and overall display performance.
