It appears that a flash cart device for the Nintendo Switch will soon be available, which will support all firmwares, all hardware revisions, and all console regions. The beta tester contacted the Twitter/X user with information regarding the new hack, though the latter mentioned that they were initially a bit skeptical. Therefore, the beta tester shared a video demonstrating the product in use, and it appeared legitimate to them.

The Twitter/X user mentioned that they were told the product is ready. The manufacturer will apparently be shipping the first units in January, 2024. As such, more information about this flash cart hack should be available very soon. It’s also worth mentioning that this will possibly be the only solder-less mod available for newer Nintendo Switch revisions, including the OLED model.

As Switch exploits gain traction, Nintendo prepares to move to its next generation console, dubbed the Switch 2. Nintendo of America President Doug Bowser recently hinted at the strong possibility of the upcoming console supporting backwards compatibility. He stated that one thing Nintendo has already done with the Switch with regards to the communication of this transition is the formation of the Nintendo Account. In the past, every device Nintendo console users transitioned to had a whole new account system. According to him, creating the Nintendo Account has allowed the console maker to communicate with with players that if and when it makes a transition to a new platform, it will help ease that process or transition.

He mentioned that Nintendo’s goal is to minimize the dip typically seen in the last year of one cycle and the beginning of another. He steered clear of making any statement regarding the Switch 2’s feature set, but did emphasize that the Nintendo Account is a strong basis for communicating a smooth transition to the next platform for existing Switch users.
