Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition Leaked Through ESRB Rating
ESRB has leaked the Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition for the Nintendo Switch. Here’s what is included in this collection.
The game collection provides players with different modes of gameplay such as speedrun and survival challenges. In these modes, players must navigate through various levels, overcome obstacles, and emerge victorious. The gameplay primarily focuses on 2D challenges, but there is a touch of mild fantasy violence where pixelated characters use small swords or arrows to strike at enemies. However, the depiction is minimal, with enemies typically getting stunned or disappearing in a flash, making it a family-friendly experience.
You can check out the official ESRB description below.
This is a collection of 2D challenges and platformer games in which players traverse through various modes (e.g., speedrun, survival). Several challenges involve reaching specific points, while others prompt players to defeat small enemies or survive brief battles. Some games depict pixelated characters using small swords or arrows to strike at enemies; enemies typically get stunned or disappear in a flash.
The collection has been rated for the Nintendo Switch so expect an official announcement soon. It was previously leaked by Pyoro that an announcement is coming soon.
The Nintendo World Championships (NWC) was a special video game competition series run by Nintendo of America. Held occasionally, the first event was in 1990, covering 29 cities across the United States, with Los Angeles hosting twice. The competition used a custom Nintendo Entertainment System Game Pak, which has since become one of the rarest and most valuable NES cartridges.
In 2014, Nintendo released NES Remix 2, which included the Nintendo World Championships Remix, enabling global competition through online leaderboards. The second NWC event took place on June 15, 2015, as part of Nintendo’s E3 2015 coverage, marking the 25th anniversary of the original event. The third edition of the NWC occurred on October 7, 2017.
