NIS America has announced its PAX West 2026 lineup, with attendees set to get the first North American hands-on opportunities for Village in the Shade, GOBBLE and an unannounced game. The publisher will be located at Booth 1923 in the Arch Building, where visitors can also play BRIGANDINE ABYSS and take part in several activities and prize opportunities.
Village in the Shade is a spooky farming simulation from the team behind the Yomawari series. Set in the rural Japanese village of Kagatsu, the game combines farming, homestead customisation and relationship-building with a darker mystery surrounding the village.
Players can grow crops, customise their home and spend time with the local residents, but there are rules to follow. Visitors to Kagatsu are told not to talk to strangers, leave the village or venture outside after dark.
GOBBLE is a hand-painted 2D action platformer featuring a distinctive demonic bird named Scythariel. The creature can transform into a scythe, allowing players to attack enemies and consume their remains.
Those corpses can then be used to unlock abilities that help with exploration, including crossing difficult terrain and discovering hidden areas. The game’s story follows the player’s attempt to find their missing family.
The third North American playable title will remain unannounced until PAX West 2026. NIS America has confirmed that attendees will be among the first players to experience the new game at the event.
BRIGANDINE ABYSS will also be playable at the booth. The strategy game introduces a new world to the long-running series, with players managing resources, commanding monsters and fighting against the resurrected Abyssloa Empire across one of six story campaigns.
The booth will feature several additional activities, including a Prinny toss challenge with special prizes and an opportunity to take a photo with Prinny. There will also be an interactive Village in the Shade photo opportunity and hourly photo sessions with Slumber Cat, alongside other exclusive prizes.
NIS America will also host two panels during PAX West. The first, Dive Into the Abyss with BRIGANDINE ABYSS Producer, will take place on Friday, September 4 at 1:30 PM in the Frog Theatre.
BRIGANDINE ABYSS producer Masaru Saito will join content creators Valkos Lunari and Veracity Trigger for a discussion covering the game’s systems, story and development. The panel will also explore strategies and the challenges involved in creating a new entry in a long-running series.
The second panel, A Chat in the Shade with Village in the Shade’s Game Designer and Development Lead, will take place on Saturday, September 5 at 12:30 PM in the Leaf Theatre. Yu Mizokami, the game’s Game Designer, and Development Lead Mio Katsumata will provide a behind-the-scenes look at the spooky farming simulation and its rural Japanese setting.
Village in the Shade and GOBBLE are planned for Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PS5 and PC. BRIGANDINE ABYSS is scheduled for Nintendo Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
