Perfect Dark & State of Decay 3 May Be Set For Release In 2025

The Initiative and Crystal Dynamics’ Perfect Dark and Undead Labs’ State of Decay 3 may be set for release in the year 2025.

Speaking during an interview with GiantBomb, Head of Microsoft Studios Matt Booty hinted at the possible release of Perfect Dark and State of Decay 3 in the year 2025. Additionally, he talked about the conversation he had with The Initiative Studio Head Darrell Gallagher, in which the latter mentioned watching the recent Xbox Showcase as a fan. He jokingly added that if he and his studio aren’t on schedule for 2024’s Xbox Showcase, he’d definitely be watching it as a fan.

Perfect dark state of decay release 2025

If both Perfect Dark and State of Decay 3 are indeed scheduled for release in the year 2025, it would certainly make sense to them to have a strong presence at next year’s Xbox Showcase event.

Previously, it was revealed via the LinkedIn profile of the Principal Technical Animator at The Initiative that Perfect Dark takes advantage of Unreal Engine 5’s MetaHuman to deliver realistic-looking character faces.

Thornock is involved in the development of the Maya tool pipeline for animation, rigging, and character art. He has worked to integrated MetaHuman faces into the pipeline and push the main body deformation with extra focus given to hands. He has also collaborated with the engineering team from Humain on the development of a streamlined and a properly interpolating RBF for Unreal Engine.

Besides Perfect Dark, the Technical Animator’s portfolio includes work on games like Dragon Age 4, Anthem, The Last of Us Part 2, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, The Last of Us, Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, and Conan.

For the uninitiated, MetaHuman is a complete framework that gives creators the ability to create highly realistic human characters. It includes MetaHuman Creator, a free cloud-based app that enables the user to create fully rigged photo-realistic digital humans within minutes.
