Persona 6 is not in development hell and is being worked on internally by P Studio, according to a new rumor.
Prior to The Game Awards 2025, known insider Nate the Hate had predicted that the sixth entry in the Persona series would make an appearance at the show. This didn’t end up happening, leading to a fan questioning whether Persona 6 is in development hell. The latter pointed out that the insider had mentioned in 2023 that the game was slated for release in 2024, and that it was supposed to be revealed long ago.
Nate’s response was brief and to the point. “It’s not in dev hell,” he said, suggesting that Persona 6’s development is coming along well.
As for the Persona 4 remake, the insider corroborated a Twitter/X member’s statement regarding the project being handled mainly by an external developer called TOSE. For this reason, most of the internal team at P Studio is focused on Person 6, which began development many years ago, long before the Persona 4 remake.
Back in November, 2024, insider ryanfrombronx, who previously shared several Sega related leaks under the ID of Midori, claimed that the development of Persona 6 had moved to localization. According to them, at the time, work on the game’s DLC expansions had begun to move further along. Earlier in May, 2024, the same insider revealed the alleged logo concept and story theme of Persona 6. According to them, the game had entered full production before Persona 3 Reload and Person 5 Tactica. According to the insider, the theme of Persona 6 is on the edge of Yin and Yang, suggesting that the game may feature a dual protagonists scenario, perhaps with a male and female character in the lead. Only time will tell whether this is the case, however. The same insider had previously claimed that the color theme for Persona 6 is green.
