PlayStation Sending Out Emails To Register For A Chance To Pre-order PSVR2
PlayStation has begun sending out emails to PSN members to register for a chance to pre-order the upcoming PSVR2 headset.
Much like how PS5 pre-orders were handled on PlayStation Direct, those who register will get the chance to be invited to pre-order the PSVR2 while stocks last. PS5 owners who have not received the email and are interested in purchasing a PSVR2 at launch need not worry, as the sign up page is open to everyone, and can be accessed by following the link here.
This will likely be the best opportunity for early adopters to acquire the headset at MSRP, given the situation with limited supply and scalpers taking advantage of it. It’s worth reminding, though, that the PSVR2 headset is only compatible with the PS5, so those looking to try it out on PC will likely have to wait for 3rd-party support, much like with the original PSVR headset.
Previously, PlayStation had revealed that the PSVR2 will launch in February, 2023, and that it has a higher price point than the PS5 itself! PlayStation has revealed various aspects and features regarding the PSVR2 over the past few months, though it’s not until recently that the launch date and price were revealed. The PlayStation VR2 will go on sale on February 22, 2023 for the recommended retail price of $549.99 / €599.99 / £529.99 / ¥74,980. The same day will also see the release of the PlayStation VR2 Sense controller charging station, which is made specifically for this controller.
Besides being sold through PlayStation Direct in the U.S., U.K., France, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg, the PSVR2 will also be available in other markets via participating retailers, with pre-orders beginning on November 15. Sony will provide further information in this regard through participating local retailers in those regions.
Standalone software titles, including Horizon Call of the Mountain, will also be available for pre-order beginning this month in November, 2022.
