Pokémon fans can look forward to a new Nintendo direct in February as teased by a reputable Nintendo Insider. The company has also teased announcements this year.
There are some games that were already announced like Pokémon Snap and Pokémon Detective Pikachu, but they haven’t received any update or release date from the developers so far. Others, like a new Pokémon Remake, have been rumored for a while now. Nintendo can also make a new Pokémon Remake in the style of Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee.
As 2021 marks the 25th anniversary of the Pokémon franchise, the Pokémon company has launched a new website where they are teasing announcements and updates for the franchise throughout this year.
They are planning to revisit many of the different regions presented in the previous Pokémon games beginning with the Galar region in March, however, a reputable Nintendo leaker who has been correct regarding leaked Nintendo Direct announcements has suggested that they might hold a Nintendo Direct in February.
This will lineup with how earlier Pokémon games have been announced. They have usually been revealed in a similar way earlier in the year. When a new generation was announced beginning with Sun and Moon, the announcement happened in January, while the next two generations were all announced in February.
In the case of Remakes, they are usually announced earlier in the month but in the case of Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, they were announced in May, and the same was true for Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee. In the case of Ultra Sun and Moon, they were announced in June.
However, judging by the fact that this is the 25th anniversary of the series, we can expect multiple Nintendo Direct announcements this year and February should mark the beginning of one of them. There is a good chance that a new Remake might be announced there, or an update will be shared on the older projects.
