Resident Evil was rumored to get a TV adaption from Netflix. It has been leaked through a listing spotted on the subscription service.
Resident Evil is one of the most successful franchises by Capcom. It has also proven to be a big hit for the company on the big screen with several movies releasing to moderate success worldwide. The movies might have ended for now with rumors about a new reboot but this hasn’t stopped Netflix to sign for a new TV show.

According to a Resident Evil fan account, Netflix had posted the synopsis of the TV show on their service but once it was discovered, they quickly took it down.
Here is the synopsis that is taken down from the leaked listing.
The town of Clearfield, MD has long stood in the shadow of three seemingly unrelated behemoths – the Umbrella Corporation, the decommissioned Greenwood Asylum, and Washington. D.C. Today, twenty-six years after the discovery of the T-Virus, secrets held by the three will start to be revealed at the first signs of outbreak.

It is a little too early to determine if this is the final synopsis since there have been no details shared for the TV show. It does appear to follow the origins of the series with a T-Virus outbreak instead of heading into the more crazy theories that started with the sequels.
