Resident Evil Requiem Adds Free “Leon Must Die Forever” Mode

Capcom has released a new free update for Resident Evil Requiem, adding an additional game mode titled Leon Must Die Forever.

The mode becomes available after completing the main story and places players in a series of combat-focused stages starring Leon S. Kennedy. According to Capcom, the mode challenges players to survive through multiple encounters while unlocking “exclusive enhancer abilities” along the way.

Unlike the slower-paced survival horror structure of the main campaign, Leon Must Die Forever focuses on fast action and replayability. Players must defeat enemies and clear stages within a time limit before facing a final boss encounter. Capcom describes the mode as being “packed with replay value,” while also warning players that “you’ll ‘die forever’” in keeping with the mode’s title.

Several difficulty settings are included, ranging from standard options to an extreme high difficulty mode intended for experienced players.

Resident Evil Requiem launched earlier this year as the ninth mainline entry in the series. The game follows FBI analyst Grace Ashcroft and Leon S. Kennedy as they investigate mysterious deaths connected to the aftermath of the Raccoon City incident. Gameplay combines first and third-person perspectives alongside classic series mechanics such as puzzle solving, resource management, and combat.

The game is currently available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, Steam, Epic Games Store, and GeForce NOW.
