Resident Evil Veronica Reportedly Won’t Appear At Gamescom

by Ali Haider

Resident Evil Veronica reportedly will not have a public presence at Gamescom 2026, with claims suggesting that neither journalists nor general attendees will be able to play the upcoming remake at the event.

The latest information comes from German YouTuber Screenfire Germany, which said it had contacted several journalists attending Gamescom and found that none had press appointments for Resident Evil Veronica. The outlet also said nobody it contacted had heard of plans for a hands-on session.

Screenfire Germany reportedly stated that there are “no press appointments for Veronica at Gamescom for hands-on play” and that, based on its discussions with other journalists, the game will not be present for either members of the press or regular Gamescom visitors.

Resident Evil Veronica Reportedly In Development Crunch

The claim follows previous comments from well-known Resident Evil insider Dusk Golem, who suggested in July that Resident Evil Veronica was unlikely to have a significant public presence at Gamescom.

Dusk Golem mentioned earlier that he had heard Resident Evil would have a limited public presence at Gamescom, with Resident Evil Veronica and the Resident Evil Requiem DLC potentially kept behind closed doors for previews. He later reiterated that he had heard neither project would be publicly present.

“I do not know Capcom’s marketing plans, but I have been hearing in the grapevine lately that Resident Evil Veronica nor Requiem DLC are really going to be publicly present there,” Dusk Golem said. He added that Veronica was in “a crucial crunch period that’ll determine when its release date is right now.”

Resident Evil Veronica was announced at Summer Game Fest 2026 as a ground-up reimagining of the original Code: Veronica. The remake is being developed using Capcom’s RE Engine and features a third-person perspective alongside an expanded and modernised story.

The game is currently expected to release in 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PC via Steam and Nintendo Switch 2.
