Leaked footage from Rockstar Games’ offices shows the studio’s upcoming open world action game, GTA VI, running on a PS5 and Xbox Series dev kit.

Apparently, the leaked footage of GTA VI running on a PS5 and Xbox Series dev kit came from a janitor’s Google drive that is now deleted. They had access to Rockstar Games’ offices, which gave them the opportunity to take a photo and film a few seconds of video. The footage was allegedly captured during the year 2021.

As one would expect, the GTA VI footage seen in the above screenshot featuring one of the game’s protagonists, Lucia, is from an old build. Given how the above footage was captured back in 2021, it’s likely to be from the same build as the footage from the infamous 2022 leak. The latter revealed gameplay videos that showed how dialogue and interaction with NPCs works. The GTA VI footage was captured using a variety of different hardware configurations, including different types of PCs using Nvidia GTX 1080 and RTX 2080 Super as well as an RTX 3080.

During its earnings conference call for Q2 2025, Take-Two Interactive had shared that GTA VI is still set for a Fall 2025 release window. The company reiterated this in conference documents and confirmed it to investors, firmly suggesting that the game will not be facing any delays. Based on its forecast for FY 2026, Take-Two Interactive is confident in the exceptional success of the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series, as it expects record-breaking performance during that period.

GTA VI is set for release on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
