The development of a rumored Assassin’s Creed game, titled ‘Titans’, has reportedly been placed on an indefinite hold.
A Reddit user claims to have heard from an undisclosed source who works as a technical artist on the game that development of Assassin’s Creed Titans Titans has been shutdown, as the studio’s workforce has been told to work on Assassin’s Creed Infinity instead.
Based on the details that have been shared with the Reddit user, development of Assassin’s Creed Titans was roughly 40% complete. Players use a character creator to define the appearance of the protagonist, who is said to have become trapped inside the Animus as an Assassin.
The game is said to be re-using some assets from Immortals: Fenyx Rising, including monsters such as Cerberus, Minotaur, and Hydra. The source claims that the game also features some original monsters, such as a Jotunn and a Kraken. The studio had planned to include several more original monsters, but the project had already been shelved before then, the source claims.
Assassin’s Creed Titans is said to be tied into Odyssey and Valhalla’s storylines, with Male Eivor and Kassandra even showing up as NPCs in the game’s hub section.
While these details sound intriguing, it’s difficult to say how much of this, if at all, is true. As such, we urge our reader to take the rumored information with a grain of salt.
Previously, Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier had revealed that the next entry in the series is called Assassin’s Creed Rift, and is set in the city of Baghdad. According to what Schreier has heard, the Assassin’s Creed game to be released after Rift is Assassin’s Creed Infinity, which will include a number of different games/experiences/biomes. These are the only two main titles in the series that he’s heard about, and, based on his sources, neither of them are set in the Aztecs.
