The pre-load date and download size for Sony Interactive Entertainment and Housemarque’s upcoming action roguelike game,Saros, have been revealed.
PlayStationSize on Twitter/X has revealed the pre-load date and download size for Saros, courtesy of recent database entries made to PlayStation servers. The upcoming action roguelike game will take up a significant amount of storage space on the PS5. As such, those with limited available space on the internal storage drive are advised to clear up some space in advance. It goes without saying that storage expansion options are available for those who need them.

The pre-load for Saros will come with the latest version i.e. 01.002.002, pre-installed for anyone who pre-ordered a digital copy of the game, though an update may be rolled out closer to the game’s early access release on April 28, 2026, or its full launch on April 30, 2026. Meanwhile, those who purchased a physical copy will likely be required to download a day one update. The download size of the PS5 version of Saros (83.440 GB) is around 23 GB larger than the size of Returnal (66.504 GB) for PS5.
The review embargo for Saros is expected to be lifted close to its pre-load dates. While the exact time has not been confirmed, it will likely follow typical patterns, with the embargo lifting at 12 AM PT / 3 AM ET / 9 AM CET.
For the uninitiated, Saros is set for release exclusively for PlayStation 5. The game puts players in the role of Soltari Enforcer Arjun Devraj (voiced by Rahul Kohli), who is sent to investigate a vanished off-world colony on the planet Carcosa. It features persistent progression systems, allowing players to permanently enhance Devraj’s equipment, including weapons and suit upgrades, across multiple runs after each death.
