Shadow of the Tomb Raider Supports 4K at 60 FPS On PS5 After Update 2.01

Shadow of the Tomb Raider has been updated on PS5 to add support for 4K at 60 FPS. This is available after installing patch 2.01.

Square Enix has patched 60 FPS support for Shadow of the Tomb Raider in a surprise update today. It is now possible to run the game at 4K while still targeting 60 FPS. This allows the users who have a PS5 to enjoy the game at its best possible configuration.

To take advantage of this new display mode, you need to download and install Shadow of Tomb Raider update 2.01 on PS5.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider Update 2.01 Patch Notes

  • Support for 4K at high frame rate on PlayStation®5 in high resolution mode.

The high-resolution mode previously ran at 30 FPS on the PS5. It is now possible to let it run at 60 FPS thus improving the performance of the game when using the high-resolution mode. There was already a 60 FPS performance mode but it was running at 1080p, so this is a step up from that mode. If you want more solid performance, perhaps you can pick that mode.

There was already an option to play the game at 60 FPS on the Xbox Series X side thanks to FPS Boost. This didn’t require any patch at all and the game was playable with a simple update on the Xbox Dashboard.

The game is available now for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PC. It is also available as part of a bundle containing the whole trilogy.
