Released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Series S, Steam, Epic Games Store, and Microsoft Store, Silent Hill f is the first mainline entry in the series to be set in Japan. The psychological horror title follows high school student Hinako Shimizu as she explores the fog-shrouded town of Ebisugaoka while confronting supernatural terrors and life-threatening choices.
The game’s narrative was written by Ryukishi07, known for his work in horror storytelling, while creature and character designs were handled by kera. Music contributions came from longtime Silent Hill composer Akira Yamaoka alongside Kensuke Inage.
According to Konami, Silent Hill f has received strong critical and player reception both domestically and internationally. The title earned multiple awards at the Famitsu Dengeki Game Awards 2025, including Game of the Year, and also secured recognition at IGN Japan’s annual awards. Internationally, the game received nominations at both The Golden Joystick Awards 2025 and The Game Awards 2025.
Konami also provided an update on the Silent Hill 2 remake, which has now surpassed 6 million total players worldwide. The company attributed the game’s continued momentum to improvements in visuals, sound design, exploration, and combat systems introduced in the remake. The player total includes both copies sold and users who accessed the game through subscription services.
To coincide with the announcement, Konami has launched a 40 percent discount promotion for the Silent Hill 2 and Silent Hill f Dual Pack on the PlayStation Store.
First introduced in 1999, the Silent Hill series has remained one of the most recognizable names in psychological horror gaming, known for its themes of trauma, fear, and emotional conflict, as well as its disturbing atmosphere and creature designs.
