Sonic Frontiers Speed, Turning, Acceleration Customization Settings Revealed

A brief video showing the detailed speed and acceleration customization settings featured in Sonic Frontiers has been leaked ahead of the game’s release.

While it’s already known that players can fine-tune Sonic’s speed, turning, acceleration, and resistance in Sonic Frontiers, this is the first time fans can get an in-depth look at these customization in the settings menu.

It’s worth appreciating that this is the first time a Sonic game is getting such in-depth customization setting for movement and control. On the other hand, fans of ray tracing features will be disappoint to know that the menu doesn’t contain RT options.

Previously, the minimum and partial recommended system requirements for the PC version of Segaā€™s Sonic Frontiers were revealed via the game’s Steam store page. Based on the system requirements, the game appears to be supported on a wide range of Intel and Nvidia hardware, though no AMD equivalent CPU and GPU specs have been revealed thus far.

Sonic Frontiers is an upcoming 3D platformer developed by Sonic Team and published by Sega. After Sonic, Miles ā€œTailsā€ Prower, and Amy Rose separate when falling through a wormhole, the player takes on the role of Sonic the Hedgehog and explores the enigmatic Starfall Islands in order to gather the Chaos Emeralds. The seriesā€™ first open world, where players solve puzzles to gather items, battle robot enemies, and incorporate platforming and classic Sonic elements like rings and grind rails.

Following the release of Sonic Forces, development of Sonic Frontiers began in 2017. Takashi Iizuka, the head of Sonic Team, wanted Sonic Frontiers to establish a new standard for future Sonic games. The Sonic Team decided on an open-ended design and concentrated on adapting Sonicā€™s abilities to an open world setting. Sonic Frontiers will be available for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on November 8, 2022.
