Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is adding Bayonetta as its first free character of Year Two, with SEGA revealing the crossover ahead of Tokyo Game Show 2026. The Umbra Witch will join the racing game alongside her own vehicle and a selection of themed extras.
Bayonetta will be available as a playable character, accompanied by the Butterfly Witch machine. The crossover will also add special emotes and sounds based around the character.
SEGA revealed the new content in a trailer showcasing Bayonetta in Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds. The footage also provides another look at the previously announced Godzilla and EVANGELION Packs, which were revealed as the first 2 DLC Packs planned for Year Two during Summer Game Fest 2026.
Further details about the game’s second year of content are planned for October. SEGA will host the World Championship Finals and Year Two Showcase livestream on Friday, October 9, where it will reveal more information about what is coming to Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds.
The Bayonetta collaboration continues the game’s roster of crossover content, bringing another established SEGA character into the racing experience. The announcement also marks the first free character revealed for Year Two, although SEGA has not yet provided a specific release date for the Bayonetta content.
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is currently available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X and S, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch OLED Model and Nintendo Switch Lite. The game is priced from $69.99 on PlayStation, Xbox and PC, while the Nintendo Switch versions start at $59.99.
The Nintendo Switch 2 Edition is also available physically and digitally for $69.99. SEGA has not provided separate pricing details for the upcoming Bayonetta content, confirming only that the character will be available as free Year Two content.
More information about Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds and its Year Two plans will be shared during the October 9 showcase. The event is expected to provide additional details on the Godzilla and EVANGELION Packs alongside the rest of the game’s upcoming content.
