Sonic X Shadow Generations sales have surpassed more than 3 million copies worldwide, marking another commercial milestone for Sega’s 2024 release. The game combines a remastered version of Sonic Generations with a new standalone campaign starring Shadow the Hedgehog.
Released on October 25, 2024, Sonic X Shadow Generations builds on the original Sonic Generations, which launched in 2011 to celebrate the franchise’s 20th anniversary. The updated release features Classic Sonic and Modern Sonic’s time-travelling adventure alongside a separate story focused on Shadow.
The game sold more than one million copies on its launch day. Its latest sales figure brings the worldwide total beyond 3 million copies.
The original Sonic Generations combined 2D platforming with 3D gameplay, revisiting familiar stages from across the series. The remastered version retains that experience while adding Shadow’s campaign as a separate component.
