Terminator: Survivors Release Date, Screenshots, Story Timeline, Solo & Multiplayer Modes Revealed

Nacon has revealed the release date, brand new screenshots, story timeline as well as solo and multiplayer modes for its upcoming first-person action title, Terminator: Survivors.

The development team has shared a new FAQ on Steam, with which it aims to answer some of the questions raised after the release of the game’s Aftermath trailer. New information revealed for Terminator: Survivors includes details on its timeline, story, gameplay, multiplayer mode, base building, release date and more. The game is being developed in Unreal Engine 5.

Setting & Story In Overarching Terminator Timeline

Terminator: Survivors is set in the year 2009, shortly after the cataclysmic Judgment Day, during a period when Skynet’s production capabilities hadn’t yet reached their peak. The Judgment Day date in 1997 was averted by Sarah Connor during Terminator 2. However, this did not halt Cyberdyne and the birth of Skynet, merely postponing the inevitable. In September 2005, Skynet attained self-awareness and initiated a global nuclear assault, resulting in the extermination of billions of people. Players will discover what occurred after the events of the movie Terminator 2 as well as the events leading up to the game.

The game is said to feature a rich, original storyline alongside side quests, each shedding light on the world’s history and its inhabitants. It is mentioned that players will cross paths with iconic figures from the Terminator saga, as well as fresh faces that are pivotal to this timeline.

Gameplay & Single-Player/Multiplayer Modes

Terminator: Survivors is a first-person shooter that is fully playable offiline via its single-player mode. However, it features a multiplayer co-op mode that allows players to further delve into the narrative and experience “the entire story” alongside up to three friends. It is mentioned that there are no plans to offer PvP functionality.
