The Boys Social Media Account Confirms Homelander Will Join The Mortal Kombat 1 Roster

The Boys official TikTok account has confirmed that Homelander will be joining the roster of playable characters in NetherRealm’s Mortal Kombat 1.

Update: It appears that the TikTok account has no official affiliation with The Boys TV series, therefore the possibility of Homelander joining the Mortal Kombat 1 roster has not yet been confirmed.

In response to a question regarding the possibility of characters from The Boys TV series making an appearance in NetherRealm’s latest entry in the Mortal Kombat series, the show’s official TikTok account, Vought International Studios, confirmed that this will indeed be the case.

However, the social media account specifically mentioned that Homelander will be available as a playable character on the Mortal Kombat 1 roster at some point, refraining from confirming the inclusion of any of the other characters. It’s likely that the decision to include other popular characters from the TV series has not yet been finalized. Regardless, it’s nice to finally have confirmation that leader of The Seven will be going up against the likes of Scorpion and Liu Kang.

Previously, a roster leak for Mortal Kombat 1 had confirmed a total of 19 playable characters in the game thus far. GameFAQs message boards member r00000r is known for accurately leaking information regarding Mortal Kombat 11 in the past, including details on the game’s story, DLC fighters and the Aftermath expansion. Additionally, his Mortal Kombat 1 story leak script was backed by another leaker, Fateunknown, who had correctly stated that Kenshi and Johnny Cage would be seen in the recent gameplay reveal at Summer Games Fest with ties to the Yazuka. A fake leaker had recently sent the GameFAQs member a list of characters, and he responded by pointing out which are not featured in the game. As a result, he had indirectly confirmed the remaining 19 characters on the list.

According to the leaker, Cyrax, Sektor, Jade, and a female variant of Nightwolf will not be featured as playable characters in Mortal Kombat 1. As the game’s Director, Ed Boon, had stated during a recent episode of The Jeff Gerstmann Show, the story dictates who is part of the main roster and who is a kameo character. For example, Cassie and the other Kombat Kids are not born yet in the game’s timeline.
