ESRB has rated Tom Clancy’s The Division Heartland for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PC. Here’s the reason behind the mature rating of the game.

The Division Heartland is an upcoming third-person shooter based on Tom Clancy’s The Division brand. It will be free-to-play and available on the last and current-generation consoles.

ESRB has given the game a Mature rating citing Blood, Intense Violence, and Strong Language as the main reasons. You can learn more about it in the details shared below.

This is a third-person shooter in which players assume the role of an elite government agent trying to restore order in a fictional town. Players use machine guns, rifles, and explosives to kill members of hostile factions. Battles can be frenetic at times, highlighted by realistic gunfire, cries of pain, blood-splatter effects, and explosions. Cutscenes depict further instances of violence: non-combatant characters executed at close range; a silhouetted scene of Russian roulette, culminating in a head shot; first-person camera footage of a gunfight; captives hit with bats or hammers. Blood pools are sometimes depicted under corpses. The words “f**k” and “sh*t” appear in the game.

While the previous Tom Clancy’s The Division games were set in Urban America, Heartland is set in a rural community in the American Northwest. In this game, the players will able to take control of a Division agent. As this is a free-to-play game, it is expected that there will be some sort of microtransactions. The rating by ESRB does confirm that there will be in-game purchases.

As for the game, it is confirmed to launch with six playable characters. There are supposedly three character classes but more content might be added later in post-launch updates. Two of the confirmed gameplay modes include Storm Operations and Excursion Operations.

Tom Clancy’s The Division Heartland is confirmed to arrive in 2022/early 2023 for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PC. It will also launch for Amazon Luna.
