The Quarry: How To Save Max

If you’ve been stuck trying to save Max in Supermassive Games’ latest drama horror game The Quarry, here’s how you can accomplish it. Much like other in the studio’s other games, your choices play an important role for the get-go. There are a total of 9 playable characters, and your choices determine their fate, which can often lead to horrifying circumstances.

Max is one of the first characters whose fate is put in your hands during the prologue section of The Quarry. The question is, how does one save Max from impending doom? Read on to find out.

Should You Help Or Leave Max?

The decision is entirely up to you, of course, and you can certainly choose to leave Max if you’d prefer to keep Laura out of harm’s way. On the other hand, you could choose to do the courageous thing and help Max. In either case, Max will get pulled deeper into the bunker by the creature. However, keep in mind that your choice here will have consequences later on.

How To Save Max In The Quarry

Prologue

Max and your character, Laura, will find themselves in a precarious predicament at a certain point during the prologue. They’ll encounter Sheriff Travis after their automobile crash and wind up at the Hackett’s Quarry storm shelter. Pick the following choices:

• Take Wrenches
• Confident

As you explore the area, Max will get ambushed by a creepy looking creature. This is when the game will ask you to make your first major choice: to help or leave Max. If you decide to help Max, pick the following option:

• Help Max

A few moments later, sheriff Travis will show up and shoot at the bunker. He’ll also inject Laura with a sedative to end the sequence.

Max will turn into a werewolf after facing Chris Hackett in the bunker. He’ll attempt to isolate himself from the others, as he doesn’t want to bring harm to anyone else due to his condition. As a result, he’ll spend the remainder of the night inside the treehouse. This will keep him safe for the most part, though there are certain circumstances that can put him in harm’s way.

Chapter 9

It’s important for Laura and Ryan to stay alive up until this point. Doing so will give you the opportunity to kill Chris Hackett towards the end of Chapter 9, which will alter the sequence of events enough to save Max from meeting a gruesome fate. As Ryan, pick the following choice:

• Shoot Monster

Chapter 10

The only time Max’s life will be in serious danger is in Chapter 10, once Emma finds him. With his curse lifted after Chris is killed by Ryan at the end of the previous chapter, you’ll assume control of Max. Should you decide to swim to the shore and confront Werewolf Caleb, it’ll lead to a grotesque death for him. In order to prevent this from happening, choose the following option:

• Stay

This should ensure that Max stays alive until the very end of the game.
