Netflix is bringing The Witcher series to their streaming platform based on the books by Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski. This Netflix adaption has received its first look for Geralt, Ciri, and Yennefer.
The Witcher has been first adapted into a series of successful video games by polish game developer CD Projekt Red and that’s how it managed to land a deal for Netflix, who decides to bring it as a TV series to their streaming platform. The difference is that the TV Show is based on the books by Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski, while CD Projekt Red has taken their own creative liberties when adapting it in a video game.
Regardless of how the adaption has been shaping up so far, it is reportedly set to launch later this year. There was already a first look at some screen test for The Witcher TV series, and Geralt was revealed by Netflix once it was confirmed that Henry Cavil will play it, but there hasn’t been any official trailer to showcase the series so far.
Today, Netflix has shared a group of images promoting The Witcher TV series. It also gives the fans their first glimpse at Geralt, Ciri, and Yenner.
The series wrapped up its production earlier this year and today the first look was revealed by Netflix in a set of promotional images. The official Twitter account has also been taken online so expect to hear more about the show in the coming days. There is still no release date for when The Witcher TV series is dropping on Netflix, but it should be out this year.
