Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter update 1.07 is now available with a Legacy Patch focused on aligning key English terminology and pronunciations with later entries in the Trails series. The update arrives ahead of Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter and also includes English UI changes, French and German localisation improvements, and various bug fixes.
The Legacy Patch changes several terms, including Quartz names, Tetracyclic Tower names, fish names, and other terminology. English voice pronunciations have also been adjusted for several locations and characters, while a number of crashes and miscellaneous text issues have been addressed.
Localization Update
- Certain English voice and text have been updated to reflect legacy terminology.
- Certain English voice lines have been updated to reflect legacy pronunciations.
- English UI and system text have been updated to reflect legacy terminology.
- French and German text has been updated for greater accuracy and consistency.
- Certain voice and text lines have been updated to correct grammatical errors and improve dialogue flow.

- Arts Defense has been changed to Shield.
- Sweet Aroma has been changed to Scent.
- Heat Haze has been changed to Haze.
- Hidden Leaf has been changed to Cloak.
- Heavenly Insight has been changed to Revelation.
Tetracyclic Towers
- Jade Tower has been changed to Esmelas Tower.
- Amber Tower has been changed to Amberl Tower.
- Crimson Tower has been changed to Carnelia Tower.
- Azure Tower has been changed to Sapphirl Tower.
Fish
- Orosho has been changed to Tiger Rockfish.
- Rainbow has been changed to Rainbow Trout.
- Samona has been changed to Salmon.
- Silver Smelt has been changed to Kasagin.
Additional Legacy Terms
- Orbal golem has been changed to Archaism.
- Hundred Day War has been changed to Hundred Days War.
- Lord of the lake has been changed to Guardian of the lake.
- Exposure quartz has been changed to Photo-quartz.
- Bitter Tomato has been changed to Acerbic Tomato.
- Grand Charine has been changed to Grand Chardonnay.
- Certain in-game graphic assets have also been updated to reflect these terminology changes.
Adjusted English Voice Pronunciations
- Liberl pronunciation has been adjusted.
- Calvard pronunciation has been adjusted.
- Zin pronunciation has been adjusted.
- Loewe pronunciation has been adjusted.
- Hamel pronunciation has been adjusted.
- Auslese pronunciation has been adjusted.
- Zemuria pronunciation has been adjusted.
- The updated pronunciations will also be reflected in Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter.
- A small number of affected voice lines could not be revised and will remain unchanged.
Other English Terminology Changes
- Blade-Type Quartz names have been renamed using the names of the status ailments they inflict.
- Shield-Type Quartz names have been renamed to Guard-Type Quartz.
- The Guard-Type Quartz naming change avoids confusion with the Quartz Shield, formerly known as Arts Defense.
French and German Terminology
French
- golem orbal has been changed to archétype.
- la grand-route d’Elise has been changed to la grand-route d’Elize.
German
- Elise-Hauptstraße has been changed to Elize-Hauptstraße.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed an issue that could cause the game to crash due to insufficient memory.
- Fixed issues that could cause the game to crash during certain operations.
- Fixed miscellaneous text errors.
- Fixed other miscellaneous bugs.
Steam Version 1.06.3
- A new 1.06.3 Steam branch has been created for players who want to play the game without the Legacy Patch changes.
- The 1.06.3 branch features the previous version of the game.
- This option is only available on the Steam version.
Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter is a full 3D remake of the classic 2004 JRPG The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky, also known as Trails in the Sky FC. The game was developed by Nihon Falcom and released worldwide on September 19, 2025.
