A new leaked trailer for Splash Damage’s Transformers Reactivate shows the Autobots and Decepticons teaming up.
Twitter/X user EnderGuyZV2 (via TFRArchive), has leaked the last remaining trailer for the now canceled Transformers Reactivate. The footage shows both Autobots and Decepticons joining forces to take on a new threat. It’s unclear whether it was ever intended for public release, as the video appears to be an internal developer presentation rather than a conventional marketing trailer.
According to details shared alongside the video, the music featured in the trailer was released on October 21, 2024, suggesting the footage was created no more than 3 months before the game’s cancellation in January, 2025. Tencent had reportedly pulled out of the project around June or July, 2024. As a result, developer Splash Damage may have produced the trailer to pitch the game to other potential publishers. Ultimately, those efforts failed and the project was canceled.
By this stage, Transformers: Reactivate had reportedly evolved significantly from its original concept. The game was no longer planned as a free-to-play live-service title but had instead been in development as a full-priced 70 US Dollar release for approximately a year and a half. Its revised direction reportedly included a single-player story campaign alongside online co-op. The leaked trailer offers a look at this revised vision.
Meanwhile, a documentary exploring the game’s 7-year development is reportedly in production, with the aim of settting the record straight about Transformers: Reactivate’s development, its unrealized potential, and the circumstances that ultimately prevented it from reaching players.
On January 8, 2025, Splash Damage announced its decision to bring the development of Transformers Reactivate to an end. Subsequently, gameplay footage showing Bumblebee in action was leaked. The game appeared to feature 2 character-specific abilities and an ultimate attack. Players could dodge incoming attacks and boost to enhance mobility in addition to the ability to jump.
