Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is a first-person action game developed and published by Fatshark, set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe. It serves as a spiritual successor to the Warhammer: Vermintide series. The game was released for Microsoft Windows on November 30, 2022, and for Xbox Series X/S on October 4, 2023.

Darktide follows a similar gameplay formula to Fatshark’s Warhammer: Vermintide 2, where four players work together to defeat waves of AI-controlled enemies. Instead of pre-made characters, players can customize their class, appearance, and gender. The four available classes are the Veteran, Zealot, Ogryn, and Psyker, each representing a balanced shooter, support, tank, and DPS role respectively. All classes feature a regenerating shield. Unlike Vermintide 2, Darktide features multiple missions that can occur in the same area, with some offering optional secondary objectives for better loot. Progression includes random rewards, in-game currency for weapon purchases, and a contract system for acquiring specific weapons.
