The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered Patch 5.01 is now live, bringing fixes for gameplay, UI, graphics settings, save data, and several platform-specific issues. The update also adds damage reflection to the Exploding Shield skill and improves ladder animations.
On PC, the patch addresses GPU detection, Dynamic Resolution Scaling, DLSS and XeSS settings, and other graphics configuration problems. Console players receive new Bloom, Light Shafts, and Depth of Field options, along with performance optimizations and fixes for PlayStation 5 settings and frame rate limits.
Gameplay
- Fixed an issue where Automatically Apply Blade Oils would only work if enabled during the current game session.
- Fixed an issue where player-controlled boats could move uncontrollably and ignore terrain collisions under specific circumstances.
- Improved ladder interaction animations.
- Fixed an issue where Geralt could collide with dead enemies after the Aard finisher.
- Fixed an issue where Vesemir would repeatedly use the same voice line when Quen was cast multiple times.
- Fixed an issue where dodging could have an unintentionally delayed response.
- Fixed an issue where bombs could be thrown even when the option was disabled.
- Fixed incorrect values displayed for the bonus granted by the Synergy skill.
- Added damage reflection to the Exploding Shield skill.
- Fixed an issue where Geralt’s Stamina could be fully drained when sprinting and dodging simultaneously.
UI
- Fixed an issue where the You’ve gained an ability point pop-up could remain stuck on screen.
- Fixed input hints briefly flashing on the meditation screen.
- Fixed an issue where the Potions tutorial would not appear after accessing the Consumables tab.
- Fixed several misaligned progress bars in the UI.
PC-Specific Fixes
- Fixed an issue where the GTAO Quality setting could reset after restarting the game.
- Fixed an issue where Dynamic Resolution Scaling could display the wrong setting after changing the Anti-Aliasing mode.
- Fixed cases where unsupported graphics settings could be enabled on incompatible GPUs.
- Fixed an issue where switching graphics presets could enable DLSS or XeSS on unsupported GPUs.
- Changed the default Dynamic Resolution Scaling setting to Off.
- Fixed an issue where Skill tooltips would not update until hovered over again.
- Fixed an issue where the game could sometimes select the wrong GPU.
Console Fixes and Improvements
- Added Bloom, Light Shafts, and Depth of Field options to the graphics settings.
- Added various performance optimizations.
- Fixed an issue where PlayStation 5 settings could reset whenever the game was launched.
- Added the fix for voiceover audio becoming significantly quieter than other in-game audio after navigating through pause menu tabs.
- Fixed incorrect frame rate limits in different graphics modes on the base PlayStation 5.
- Added Ukrainian text localization to all regions.
Other Fixes
- Made visual adjustments to Bloom, tone mapping, character lighting, Ray Tracing, and Path Tracing.
- The policy consent screen will appear again due to backend issues, requiring players to confirm their preferences.
- Fixed an issue where My Rewards and Twitch/Bilibili Drops would not appear in the Vizima chest if it had previously been opened.
- Some items may be duplicated as a result of the rewards fix.
- Fixed an issue where foliage would not react to collisions.
- Fixed an issue that could affect save file data.
- Added measures to address saves that may have already been affected.
- Fixed an issue where Dynamic Resolution Scaling could cause visual artifacts in certain configurations.
Nintendo Switch 2 Update
- An update for the Nintendo Switch 2 version is also in development.
- The planned update will bring the Nintendo Switch 2 version closer to parity with other versions.
- The update will include the same global changes introduced on other platforms.
- Nintendo Switch 2-specific improvements will include image clarity and sharpness.
