CD Projekt Red has confirmed how existing Nintendo Switch owners can upgrade to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered on Nintendo Switch 2 at no additional cost. Digital owners can already pre-order the Remastered version for free through the Nintendo eShop, while physical owners will receive the free upgrade when the new version launches.
The information was shared by CD Projekt Red’s official support account, which clarified the process for both versions of the original game. Players who own The Witcher 3 digitally can claim the free pre-order immediately, while those with a physical copy will be able to claim their upgrade from September 29.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered is scheduled to launch on September 29. The upgraded release is coming to PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Battle.net, alongside a native Nintendo Switch 2 version.
The Remastered edition introduces improvements across visuals and performance, combat, traversal and mount handling. It also adds new effects for Witcher Signs, improved monster behaviour, a redesigned skill tree, transmogrification, an expanded photo mode and additional finishers.
CD Projekt Red previously confirmed that existing owners will receive the Remastered upgrade at no additional cost on qualifying platforms. The Nintendo Switch 2 release will provide the series’ acclaimed RPG with a native version for Nintendo’s newer hardware.
