Xbox Cloud Gaming Playtime Packs Now Available to Insiders

by Greg Martin

Xbox has started testing a new way to access cloud gaming without a Game Pass subscription. Starting October 21, 2026, Xbox Insiders without an active Game Pass subscription can purchase cloud playtime packs and stream games on supported devices.

The preview gives eligible Insiders an early look at the option ahead of a broader rollout planned for November. Participants can purchase playtime, try cloud gaming, and provide feedback to help Microsoft improve the service.

Xbox Cloud Playtime Prices Revealed

Xbox is offering three cloud playtime packs at introductory prices during the preview:

  • 10 hours: $3.99
  • 25 hours: $7.99
  • 50 hours: $11.99

The packs provide an ad-free cloud gaming experience, with shorter waiting times, high-quality streaming, and playtime that remains available until it has been used.

Xbox Insiders Can Also Test Free Cloud Gaming With Ads

The new paid option joins an existing Xbox Insider preview that lets players access cloud gaming for free with advertisements. This gives players another way to try the service without subscribing to Game Pass.

Availability, purchasing options, eligible games, and cloud gaming features may vary depending on the market, device, account eligibility, and preview ring. Players will need a supported device and access to a cloud-playable game, either through a purchase or, for select games, free-to-play access.
