Yakuza: Like a Dragon Gets First Gameplay Footage From PS5

Yakuza: Like a Dragon will be a timed next-generation exclusive for Xbox Series X. It is confirmed to launch on March 2, 2020, for the PS5.

Yakuza: Like a Dragon has received an official release date today on PS5. It will now launch earlier than the planned date for PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC. It was first launching on November 13 but the release date has been pushed ahead to coincide with the launch of Xbox Series X, which will arrive on November 10.

Yakuza: Like a Dragon will be a timed exclusive for the Xbox Series X. It is the only next-generation console that will get the game at launch. Sega has confirmed that the PS5 version will arrive at a later date and will launch at the full price despite the delay.

While this might be all bad news, especially if you are a fan of the Yakuza series and were hoping to play it on the PS5, the game is backward compatible on the PS5 which means it will be playable, but it won’t feature any of the enhancements like faster load times and improved resolution on the PS5.

Sega has also shared the first gameplay footage of Yakuza: Like a Dragon from the PS5. It is the first gameplay footage of Yakuza: Like a Dragon running on the PS5. Keep in mind that Sega has limited us to just one minute of footage but there is more out there.

As you can see in the footage, the game looks remarkably clean in it. While the delay is bad news, it is made worse by the confirmation that the save data won’t transfer between PS4 and PS5.

Yakuza: Like a Dragon will be out on November 10, 2020, for PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC. It will also launch for the PS5 on March 2, 2020. Those who own the PS4 version will be able to upgrade to the PS5 version for free, however, they won’t be able to carry over their save data.
